c.1928 Kuramochi Sports Land Amusement Ride Toy

Early pre-war Japanese lithographed tin toy features revolving roller cars on a raised curved ramp inside a wire railed base. Rare toy in excellent+ condition and works great! It's missing the center canopy.

Clockwork mechanism rotates three, two-man autos + three figures seated on the center hub. These are fixed to the top of a "boxing ring-type base complete with corner posts and double rails. The oblique base has the toy name lithoed on two panels. The remaining two panels show portraits of three autos with drivers. One of these panels also has "Made In Japan" and the Kuramochi trademark (see last photo).

The track has two raised curve sections which cause the vehicles to ride upwards and down again. This gives it a nice movement variation which differs from other "circular amusement" toys. And lastly, it uses an attached key.

Size: 6¼" square base. 3-¾" tall
